Isn't it possible to follow an individual on Mastodon from here ?

It is not. Being able to do that was on the 2025 roadmap but it was the only thing that didn’t get completed.

You can use the little bell icon to be notified whenever an account posts something, which is kinda similar to following.

Is there a way to “retrieve remote user” to get to their page if they don’t comment on any posts?

Yes, actually! There are two ways you could force a user to get fetched that I can think of:

  1. @-mention them in a post or comment and then click that link after the post/comment is made…if piefed doesn’t already know that user, it will go fetch that user.
  2. Just input the lookup url directly. This is what is happening behind the scenes in #1, but the url structure looks like this (looking up myself using piefed.zip as an example): https://piefed.zip/user/lookup/wjs018/piefed.wjs018.xyz

#2 worked! Now I’m waiting for them to post something

Thanks 🙂

I have a Mastodon account. I like this account @admiralwonderboat@mastodon.social. lt’s a wonderful account 🤓🤓🤓.

I wish to follow this account from here.

It is still planned for 2026 ? What are the priorities for Piefed ? What steps are missing before we get there ? :)

Imo, it would be great to update the roadmap :)

Yes it would be good to do another roadmap.

Although, last time what ended up happening is I plodded through all the roadmap items while everyone else continued to do whatever seemed fun at the time. I wanna do fun stuff!

You’re the developer of piefed ??🤓🤓🤓

One of them, yes.

I think I just saw this in the Piefed repository’s issues, and the answer was “No”.

I recall a technical solution being proposed, but not if it was accepted or being worked on.
